Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Managed Services Australia as a Senior Account Manager, working remotely from my hometown of Colombo, Sri Lanka. While I may be thousands of kilometres away, I already feel very much a part of the team – and I’m looking forward to working closely with our customers and partners as we grow together.
A little about my background: I’ve spent the past 15 years in the telecommunications industry, most recently with Superloop (formerly Exetel), an Australian telco where I progressed from Business Development Executive to Senior Account Manager within the Channel Partner Sales division. That journey taught me the value of long-term relationships, being solution-focused, and staying adaptable in a constantly evolving tech space.
Prior to Superloop (Exetel), I worked at Dialog Axiata – Sri Lanka’s leading mobile service provider – where I was part of the marketing team, handling merchant acquisition for their Star Points loyalty program. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management and a diploma in Computer Studies, which helps bridge the business and tech worlds in my role.

Colleagues have described me as calm under pressure, empathetic, approachable, and detail-oriented. I genuinely enjoy working through challenges, building strategic partnerships, and making sure clients feel supported and empowered.
If I weren’t working in tech, you’d probably find me running an animal sanctuary in some quiet, green corner of the world. I regularly feed the stray cats and dogs in my neighbourhood, and if I had the space, I’d likely adopt every single one I meet! My husband and I are proud pet parents – with four dogs between our families – including my feisty little Pomeranian, who fully believes she runs the household!
Outside of work, I enjoy baking, swimming, playing board games like Codenames, and occasionally getting crushed at Scrabble by my husband’s grandma (she’s a true word game legend!). One of my prouder baking moments was when I accepted a large brownie order for a friend’s office farewell party – 30 brownies, all baked in a tiny residential oven. Let’s just say it was a logistical challenge, but I delivered on time, sleep-deprived but victorious. I’m a coffee lover and appreciate the simple pleasure of a good cup, enjoyed at home or a cozy café.
Remote work has been a great fit for me – it’s flexible, convenient, and better for the environment. As someone who’s passionate about sustainability, I really appreciate Managed Services Australia’s green approach, especially their commitment to managing e-waste responsibly.
What excites me most about working in the IT and managed services space is the constant evolution. There’s always something new to learn, and I love the challenge of connecting people with solutions that genuinely make their work easier and more efficient.
At the core of my personal philosophy is this: anything can be accomplished with enough desire. I don’t believe people are incapable – just that sometimes they haven’t found the right reason to learn or try. That mindset has guided me through much of my career, and I’m excited to bring it with me to this new chapter.
I’m excited to bring that same energy to Managed Services Australia – building meaningful relationships, supporting our amazing customers, and delivering real value every step of the way.
Looking forward to connecting with many of you soon!
Warm regards,
Ranesha Silva
