Internet will be available in Kenya with Googles balloon service

Loon is bringing balloons to Kenya to provide 4g internet connectivity to rural areas of the country.  The balloon is powered by solar panels that powers the gear to provide the 4g internet. It also has a battery to help it operate at night when there is no light.

The balloons can also move with the wind to different locations. This can help provide a internet connection to many different areas at different times. The balloons work off a mesh network with many balloons all connected to one another. The balloons get the connection from ground stations that beam to the balloons.

You can read more about these balloons in this article.
